- How do I Respect him?
Sometimes respecting and obeying our daddies can be the hardest thing God asks us to do as daughters. What do we do when it seems they are unfair or unreasonable? What if our dad's don't have an explanation why? What if we feel they don't understand our girlish ways?
Well I'm not about to write a book on the subject but I would like to help out you troubled girls who really do have good dads but are having difficulty finding the good.
1. The Unfair and the Unreasonable:
My dad said I couldn't take dance lessons and he's told me no repeatedly because I've asked repeatedly. It wasn't because we couldn't afford it, I had saved up my birthday money in order to take dance, it was for a different reason, a harder reason for me to understand. You see I had done my research, looked up the word dance in the Bible and was all prepared to defend my right to dance but with a few words dad toppled down my defenses. "Elizabeth," he said, "I could never let one of my daughters dance, this is just a personal conviction for me, I'm sorry if this seems UNFAIR." I was incredibly crushed and embittered, if I had the money and the Bible behind me why couldn't I dance??? For a long time I brought this question before the Lord and His answer was the same each time, "Honor your Father." A couple of years ago my dad gave me permission to take dance but did not give me his blessing, I again went before the Lord and the answer was the same, I couldn't take dance without his blessing. So how did I go from bitter to content? Well it's taken me awhile but God gave me peace, he showed me that dancing was okay by Him but He asked if I would trust Him, " You can't dance now and I know why, will you wait for Me, wait till I show you My plan?" At last I let go of the dream and held on to His plan for me. He further explained to me that dancing was just a part of what I will get to do in Heaven.

2. He doesn't know why but he says I can't!
One day my dad said to me, concerning something I wanted to do but he didn't think was a good idea, " Elizabeth I don't know why but you have to trust me and God, sometimes He just gives me a restless heart and I just can't let you go." ( Not all of his words but the basic idea). I hope you get what I'm trying to say here!
3. I'm a girl and he wants me to stop crying!
My dad is the best dad I know when it comes to a crying girl. Countless bad days have been cured by my dad's thoughtfulness. However there has been times when he's asked me to be a soldier. So what do you do when your being asked to be a soldier? Buck up and try!
1. Take a deep breath
2. Dry your eyes, use a cold damp cloth to cool your face.
3. And march, 1...2...3.
Believe it or not you can stop crying and you can SMILE!
Love to you all, Elizabeth
