When we think about a dinning room, it is of course associated with food. We know food can be good for us or it can be bad...this food is usually referred to as "junk food." Well what we feed our hearts can also either be good or bad. In this chapter the man in the story sets before Jesus a plate of what we would consider to be "junk food" for the heart. It was primarily just a plate full of "worldly desires" what he wanted, what he craved. Sometimes people will say, "I'm feeling like a candy bar," or, "doesn't mash potatoes and gravy sound good right now!" Now I'm not saying it is sinful to have different food cravings as long as we exhibit self control but in the heart, "food cravings" often have to do with the fleshly desires or lusts.
From, My Heart, Christ's Home:
He seated Himself at the table with me and asked, "What is on the menu for dinner?" "Well," I said, "my favorite dishes: money, academic degrees and stocks, with newspaper articles of fame and fortune as side dishes." These were the things I liked - secular fare.
When the food was placed before Him, He said nothing, but I observed that He did not eat it. I said to Him, "Master, don't You care for this food? What is the trouble?"
He answered, "I have food to eat that you do not know of. If you want food that really satisfies you, do the will of the Father. Stop seeking your own pleasures, desires, and satisfaction. Seek to please Him. That food will satisfy you."
There at the table He gave me a taste of the joy of doing God's will. What flavor! There is no food like it in all the world. It alone satisfies.

Interesting! I will think 'bout it! It sounds interesting....I mean to think aobut. I really have no clue what I "feed" my heart.
