It's a snow day! Of course the kids want to play in the snow however it's never as easy as it sounds. We dump the bucket of "snow things" on the ground. Abby finds one of her gloves, Nathan can't find his snow boots at all, Hannah's hat doesn't fit etc. So we begin the process of making things work. This often means the Blackwell children are seen with a red and blue gloves, the girls have had to wear boy hats and once one of the boys had to wear my old snow pants but you know what it's worth it...to the kids...they could care less if th
ey look like clowns-they get to play in snow. So we help zip them up, put their hands into gloves , then take the gloves off when we realize they don't have their coat on, we make sure their hats cover their ears and that their coat it buttoned up. We often wonder if it's worth it?We know they will be back home in 15min, they will act like they were out for hours, they will expect hot chocolate. Then we unzip and pull off and lay out to dry the "snow things." But as I watch them laughing and sipping their hot chocolate I know in my heart of hearts, it's worth it-these short minutes make up our lives and we want our lives to be filled with memories such as these.
